1LE or not?

I have a quick question for you pro's on brakes. I have had this argument with a friend of mine several times now and need the correct answer. I am dealing with a 88 Trans Am WS6. I say that just because its a WS6 does not mean it has the 1LE brake package, am I right or wrong? And I assume to check I would have to measure the rotors on the front. Does anybody know the diameter of the 1LE rotors. Thanks

1LE brake rotors measure 11.65"

Non-Perf. package brakes are 10.50"

You can also check by looking at the caliper location on the right-rear only. If the caliper is on the front side (closer to the door) then it is standard brakes 10.50. If the caliper is on the rear like the left side rear then it is the 1LE perf. package.

1LEs have 2 piston aluminum front calipers, all others have single piston iron front calipers.

Perhaps this image of my 1LE brake package will help.

This is an example of the images that will be on our sonn to be released "CD" of 1LE and other F-body info.

Does the above hold true with a 92 GTA?
My fronts are single piston and the backs are both located at the rear of the disc.

According to the above then I would have non 1LE up front but have 1LE in the rear..

Yes it does. But in '90-'92 al rear disc brake equipped cars came with the PBR type rear disc brakes. GM finally realised that the earlier Delco-Morain cast iron rear disc brakes sucked. So a permanant change was made. Thank goodness!

Yes, the "PBR" rear calipers came as standard equipment on all 1989-1992 F-Body cars that were ordered with rear disc brakes (the J65 4wheels disc brakes option).

In the attached image you can clearly see the "PBR" logo cast into the caliper.

Thanks guys
I guess I'm gonna convert to a 1LE setup soon. All 4 rotors need to be replaced and one of the calipers needs help.
I was hoping I already had the 1LE setup. Oh well. My car hates me.
