Brake problem or is it normal??? HELP

Hi,

I dont know if this is a problem or if ive just started to notice it, but whenever I have to brake in my 91 z28, I notice that I have to press down really far on the pedal for my car to even start to slow down. Then when I press my brakes all the way down (full braking) at a stop light or something, my emergency brake light comes on.

I checked out the pads and the brake fluid and everything is ok. Do you know why this would be happening? or is this normal that the emergency brake kicks in when 100% force is on the brakes??

Thanks guys

the light coming on is the brake warning light, there is a failure somewhere in the system, anyway you need to get the brakes checked out as soon as possable.

probably caliper/bleeding related.
I had same thing happen turns out right rear caliper was sticking and I needed a full flush. $40 for caliper and $40 to flush. then about $40 for my backyard mechanic to do it.

i just fully rebuilt ALL my brakes though, new calipers, pads, rotors EVERYthing. I'm hoping SS brake lines will firmup pedal feel then they should work great. Nothing unbelievable, the factory breaks were... well... about average, nothing great.
