I jsut got my control arms put in today after replacing the bushings.. i must say this is the first time i'v worked on my car for something major without anything going wrong!!!! I was suprised at how easy it was.. even with that stupid spring compressor.. How long should i expect before the pre-lube grease i put on wears off and everything starts squeaking like crap?? i took it for a drive tonight, and it was suprised how much everything tightened up, understeer was reduced alot (replaced sway bar bushings too).. i was driving and did some quick "evasive manuevers" and was suprised at how well the front tires stuck to the ground, i feel like i could easily manuever through hundreds of dogs crossing the highway!!
best part is no squeaks, yet... Im getting new tires tomorrow so i can't wait until then to test out everything new..

the only problem i DID have was i didn't realize the bolts for the control arm were different sizes... So one side got the long ones, the other got the short bolts... I'll have to fix that one day..

Mine only squeak after I drive through big puddles after it rains. After a big puddle, the next few days it will squeak and slowly go away over a week.

Over 15,000 miles later, and mine still don't squeak.

Same here, It's the sway bar ones that do it. I've been meaning to get down there and regrease them. Maybe I'll get some greasable ones.

I don't know. Becasue I converted mine to be greasable (that's been over 3 years now). FYI, I had enough requests for them that Top-Down Solutions will be adding greasable front and rear sway bar bushing kits to our inventory in roughly 1 week. I'm just waiting for the brackets and bolts to return from being zinc plated and more bushings to arrive from Guldsrand so I can modify them to be greasable. Oh, FYI, the brackets on the Energy Suspension greasable front sway bar bushing kits have a straight slot pattern which will ONLY fit on a 1982 F-Body. 1983-92 F-Bodies have an offset bolt mounting pattern, so they will not fit. My version will fit all 1983-92 F-Bodies with the exception of 1989 TTA's. Lon

Hey Lon, should I just send you my Guldstrand bushings? I haven't messed with them yet, just took them out to play with them. I could pre-pay you for my kit and you could send it out when it's ready.

Ed, yes send them to me and I'll modify them. I'll deduct my cost for them from the kit price. You'll have the kit in hand in plenty of time. The brackets went to plate Wednesday and will be plated Monday (yellow zinc). Once back, I'll just have to install the zerk fitting and grease fitting cover and package. Any preference on color for the grease fitting cover? Black will be standard, but blue and red are also in stock. If you don't have it you should pick up a set of my grease fitting covers then too (currently on sale). A pack of 10 will be enough to cover all 9 fittings on the front suspension.
I'm including zinc plated bolts with the kit. It cost an extra lot charge to get them plated, but I want to include them because many of my customers have a lot of rust issues.

Ed, I got your brackets and sent you e-mail. I will be finalizing pricing on the greasable front and rear (yes I have a VERY FEW rear kits available) sway bar bushing kits. The brackets came out real nice. They are plated yellow zinc. I also plated the mounting bolts (or in the case of the rears U-bolts and hanger brackets)and include them with the kit. Brackets are drilled & roll-tapped prior to plating and have a zerk fitting installed. A grease fitting cover protects it from debris between lube jobs. I am using Guldstrand Motorsports poly-graphite bushings exclusively. They are specially modified by drilling through to the ID, then I make 3 circumferential grooves on the ID and a double-cross groove for the grease to flow all around the sway bar. TDS p/n 200170-36, -34 & -32 (designating 36mm, 34mm & 32mm Guldstrand Motorsports poly-graphite bushings. Retail Price is $39.50. I can also offer it ala carte: Sway bar greasable bracket kit (less bushings) is 200170-NB, $13.50. I'll supply details on how to modify your own bushings to make them greasable.
