HELP! Need to know if '88 Proportioning valve will my '87 IROC.
Will it work? The PV I want to get is outta '88 IROC with drum/disk, and I want to put it onto my '87 with disc/disc. Will it physically bolt up? I've been having very serious brake problems, and I've replaced it all but the PV, so I need to try this.
i believe if the one you want is the flat sided, machined looking aluminum one it'll work with either brake set up. the round cast iron looking one will only work for disk/drum. not 100% sure, but if it were me i'd do it based on what i tihnk. like i've never been wrong before.

It will bolt up just fine. It should work just fine as well. Many people have disc-disc brakes and use the disc-drum valve.

You think I should remove the spring/plunger on the new PV when I get it in, or not bother? My rear discs are weak right now, but the front brakes are giving me the biggest problems breaking and that's why I'm replacing the PV.

I'm on my third master cylinder with the same results :-(. All that's left to do is replace all the brake lines, the booster, and the PV.
