i bet you can find out by one of these two following ways: call local GM dealer ask for part numbers of spindles for 85, and 87 and 89, etc and see if number changed, also call or preferaby go to small guy type of junkyard and ask to look up spindles interchange in the hollanders manual that they will have on the counter,. thats how i find out spoindles stuiff, in fact i just recently went to springfield to lok up 80-90 9c1 B body spindles, and damn lot of wagons and other makes of cars including caddy devilles and buicks and olds most all wagons, etc '78-90 are same deal as a squad car caprice/impala '78-90

good luck

There's a link to a parts and illustration manual on the home page. Here the front suspension page:

http://www.metzcon.com/fbodymanual/6-02.htm

For some reason the drawings won't expand anymore. I have the actual catalog at home

Anyhoo, practically any front spindle (#14-Knuckle) should do, but as the manual points out, the only difference I can see is between 1LE and non-1LE cars. The a-arms (#35) however are different for 15" and 16" wheeled cars.

I ordered bearings. The parts guy said," The base/RS models have smaller O.D. spindels."

Ed, After you view your CD, repost. I am sure you will find the "Spindle Modification" section interesting.
