I'd also like a detailed explaination of how to check for a worn out strut mount. Also, who makes a good (doen't have to be the very best) replacement?

really there isnt a way to check them, except to look at it, and check the rubber mount thats there....but that doesnt include all the bearings inside of it that could be worn out. basically, if you hear clicking, and squeaking from the plates, they should be replaced. Monroe sells some very decent ones at a reasonable price.

If I tap the brakes while going slow, like parking lot speed I do hear a clicking sound that sounds like it might be coming from the strut mounts.

if you want to spend the money hunter motorsports is doing a limited run of billet alum, solid mount peices. check the thread towards the bottom of the page.

if you just wanta solid bearing, and don't mind keeping the stock stamped houseing .. check out www.ground-control.com.

they sell a solid mount that reuses some of the stock peices of the housing.

I'd like one from HMS but I don't have the money right now. Do you know if he will offer them again in the future??
