Wheel Weights
SLP Firehawk rims. When I get them balanced I don't want to have the wheel weights on the outside making a mess out of the rim.
Problem is that any time I've had the weights put on the back side of my old rims the wheel has always been a little bit out of balance so I just ended up putting the weights back on the outside of the rim and it was OK after that although marked up because of the weights.
So how can I get around this with the new rims:
1. Should they balance properly with the weights on the back notwithstanding the problems I've had with this before.
2. What should the lug nuts be tightened to on the SLP aluminum rims.
Thanks

if you only balance using the static set up ( only weight on the inside lip), then most of the time you'll have a little vibration. what you can do is have it balanced by having the weight on the inside lip and sticky weight on the inside edge of the wheel closest to the outer side. this is the next best way to balance.
tighten the lugnuts to 85 ft/lbs

it's not the wheel you are torquing. it's the lugnut/stud. for 12mm x 1.5 studs you can use 80-110lbs. on my '94z28, in the owner's manual, it said torque lugnuts to 110lbs

There is a product you can use to balance the tire dynamically from the inside. I posted this info on it before.
