BW 9Bolt swap?
I did do a search and didn't find much about this. But what is required to swap a Borg Warner 9 Bolt into my '87 Iroc? Stock it was a non-posi 2.73 drum rear. I currently have an auburn carrier from an '86 Iroc and have 4.10 gears, but with my set-up it would be better to have less gear. What is involved in swapping rear ends? Issues such as rear disc, parking brake, etc... The BW 9bolt I'm looking at has a 3.45 gear which would be Perfect. Anyhelp greatly appreciated!
same question
I need to know the same question. I am putting one in my 83 z28. I have about a 3000 stall that I want to put to use so after it is installed can you buy the axles and carrier and everything?

I just did this swap. 10 bolt 2.73 drum to a 9 bolt with 3.27 gears and discs. The rear itself bolts on just the same as you would swap in a different 10 bolt for instance. The LCA's, panhard bar, shocks, ect all go on the 9 bolt exactly like the old 10 bolt. Really the only issue is swapping from drums to discs. Use the search feature and you will find more than you ever wanted to know about putting in rear discs. I did and spent hours reading through the posts. It was very helpful. I will mention briefly that you will need the coresponding parking brake cables and the porpotioning valve along with the calipers and other parts that I assume are on the rear end already. It's not too difficult though. So just use the search feature on swapping to rear discs and the rest is a simple bolt in.

that kinda rear end swap is just a bolt in drive way project..
to get the rear disk brakes to work properly you need to swap out the old proportioning valve with the disk brake one...
i sold a bw 9 bolt posi 3.27 rear end with the disk brakes on it, and the proportioning valve for only 200 bucks to my friend and he said is what fairly easy one day project...
good luck
