my stock brakes on a 4th gen rear?

I currently have what i think is a stock axle on my 87. Its drum rear. Being short on money right now, can my stock drums be bolted onto a 02 ss rear axle? I will goto discs eventually but i would really really like to save the money right now.
Thanks for any input
J

The 4th gen rear, btw, lacks all its brake parts as it was swapped out for a 12 bolt and the owner reused the brake parts.

I seriously doubt it... the big plate thing that's welded onto the end of the axle tubes for the backing plate to fasten to is quite different between disc & drum systems. The drum one is bigger, so it's usually possible to put discs on a drum rear with some cutting and drilling; but it's alot harder to go the other way.
