worn out suspension
My car is killing me....okay not quite but giving me a nasty headache.
Every bump the car crashes over, the rear is much worse, hatch glass reverberates, whole car generally rattles and shakes too.
I think the LCA bushings are shot. While I'm at it the rear shocks mights be replaced too, and maybe a strut tower brace.
All this makes me wonder what these cars were like when they were new.
Anyone replced lots of suspension parts and noticed a big diffrence??

I've replaced everything in my ride. When I first got my car it was comparable to a lincoln. Soft and comfortable ride enough to cruise over railroad tracks at 55. Now that I replaced all the old parts with new I can corner and turn ten times better. Its sad to hear that your car vibrates and makes lots of rattles. From your story it looks like you have blown shocks and your LCA bushings are shot. Examine the bushings...their prolly all cracked and beat up. Look at your panhard rod while your at it and your end links. Hope this helps.

I just replaced everything and it made a world of difference. It'll run you about a grand for everything, give or take, but it's worth it...cheaper than a new car. I also went with 1LE brakes.

Well here's the scoop.
Rear sway bar bushings are shot, transmssion mount is cracked and the shocks are kaput.
Now I just have to figure out hoe to get all that installed

sway bar bushings - super simple man just take off the nut on the endlinks and change the bushings.
as for the trans mount just take off the 4 bolts and put in a new one.
rear shocks - pull up the back carpet take off the top bolts, take off the bottom bolts. and your shocks will come right now. Then just reverse the process to put them back in.
most of hte work on camaros are pretty simple.

Well I managed to get a lift and get the work done today:
2 rear shocks- Monroe Sensa_Tracs
Rear sway bar busings and end links
-Energy suspension
Polyurathane trans mount
Car feels different for sure but kinda werid.
Gets vibrations when I step on it-- maybe I screweed up the trans mount??
At least teh whole car doesn't sqeak over bumps and it does take speed bumps better--still very loud, transmits too much noise

yeah i have heard the plate in conjunction with the poly mount will cause vibration...
i am sure you didnt mess it up, you just have to take out the plate i think.. try a search alot of people had the same problem and fixed it easily..

Did you put that plate in that comes with the mount? If you did, take it out.

Not sure about the tranny mount install, haven't checked yet, or asked my friend (he put it in) I don't think the plate was put in.
However the bolt didn't fit through the centre hole on the crossmemeber and neede some "adjustment" with a blow torch. I used Monroe Sensa Tracks on the back, same as I have on the front.
Ride is still terrible-- car can literally give me
a headache
On smooth roads it's all right but on medium condition to poor it's terrible.
THese cars can't be this bad when they where brand new could they? Anything else I might replace to improve the ride quality and rattles??
Car feels like it's held togther with shoelaces!

no, I somehow have a hard time beliving they will give me what I'm looking for, could be wrong.
One of they guys in the Calgary 3rd gen club has SFC--I 'll have to try before I buy. Gotta wait until spring though (parked for winter)
I think I need to drive other people F-bodies too then I can really compare.
What's a good brand of SFCs?
