panhard bar...

what is a panhard bar? people are always refering to them on here and i have no idea wtf they're talkin about.. is it what a manual calls a track bar? any ideas? i cant find a mention of this in any manual.. is it an aftermarket part?

Transmission: A4, A4, slated to be a T56
Panhard bar = track bar. It's the piece that keeps the rear end centered under the car. If you look underneath the car from the rear, it's the upside down U-shaped piece that slants down from right to left. One end attaches to the car (right end) and the other attaches to the rearend (left side).

ooooo ok so its the same thing, gotcha..k that confused the hell outa me could that have something to do with my car sitting improperly? because as far as i can tell the springs are fine..

I"m guessing he means uneven ride height. My car was like that then I changed the Panhard to an adjustible one and it wetn back to normal.
