Big tires, but will they fit?????

Ok, bought some rims off a 4th gen the other day. They came with brand new Comp TA's up in the front and BFG drag radials in the back. The fronts are 275/40/ZR17 and the rears are 315/35/R17. Will these fit the 3rd gen wheel wells just fine or do I need to get out my hammer and/or torch

Joe

Do a search for ZR1 (that's the size of those wheels. Most likely ZR1 replicas, maybe even originals. They were never stock on a 4th gen though. Even the 4th gen SS and WS6 got 275/45 all around) They will fit with the right adapters. Several people have done it.

some other Joe.

with 315's you most likely have an 11" rear wheel, you will probably have to roll the fender lip to fit that without it rubbing

that and spacer so you end up with the right backspacing.

if your car is lowered, you will want an adj. panhard bar also , so you can center the rearend.

I think you'll need a 2.5 inch spacer for the rear.

Yea I knew about the spacers, my big concern was if the big tires would phisically fit in the wheel wells. My car isn't lowered and never will be, so no problem there. I just hope they don't scrub.
