Are 94-96 Impala Brakes the same as 93-97 Fbody ones?
Does anyone have any info about this? The reason I'm asking is that I can get rear calipers, backing plates and rotors from a 9C1 police package equipped Caprice(which are supposed to the same as those on an Impala SS) and I'm wondering if they are will work on my current '87 10 bolt rear end. If they are exactly the same as those on the F-bodys, then I'll get them and have a go at it. If not, are they smaller/bigger? Thanks guys for any input.

Boy...I'm having a difficult time with this one. I posted this question on camarz28.com also and no replys either. I guess I'll have to go to the dealer and cross reference part numbers. Only bad thing is that all the ones around here get pissed when you don't actually get a part and are just looking fo info.

as long as the caprice has a 10 bolt as well, i can't see why with the backing plates the brakes wouldn't bolt up. At least for the rears, now the front i have no idea
Steve

Thanks for the offer and you can check out more about the car here...http://unitsn4.cz28.com/ It's a half *** website I threw together one night very late. It needs some updating.

hey there,
no problem right now my motor and trans are out of my car and i'm playing electrician to go with a complete autometer guage setup instead of my factory one. I am also in the process of regasketing and redoing the 305 heads and motor. Which i will then hopefully sell and sell the 700R4. Then I will build up my 355 like i've been wanting for about 2 years now. Then my friend will build me a beefed up turbo 350 and i'll be set to go next spring. So our cruises can begin.
A big weekend to check out is denny's thirdgen gathering memorial weekend every year, should be another good showing of cars. This is in crete IL and well worth the drive. Plus if you need any parts he's our local parts guy for weird-*** things you might need. At anytime he usually has 7 or 8 thirdgens to part out. Really great guy as well. He goes by "LFN AT U" on this board.
But when our cars are finished then a cruise will be in order.

I believe the rotors will have the wrong bolt pattern. The b-body cars used the wider 5-lug pattern. I know that 96 Impala SS wheels will NOT fit on an 86 Monte Carlo (which has the same pattern as our F-bodies)
