Rollcage questions

Does anyone have swing out bars on their cages? What do you do about the door handles, just cut a notch in them?

A properly installed roll bar/roll cage should have a modified door bar to clear the third gen door handle when the door is closed. It won't have anything to do with the door bar being a swing out or not.

Awhile ago I saw pictures of a standard cage with straight swing out bars and what looked like stock door handles. The ones that are modified from S&W to clear stock handles aren't NHRA legal. And according to them, the ones that are legal won't clear the handle. So I want something legal and am wondering what to do about the handles.

i have a jegs 8-point set-up and i mearly narrowed the main hoop about 2-3" (had to anyways so i could put my interior pieces in. the hoop almost touched the sides of the pillars right in front of the speakers) it puts the bars a little closer to the seats but it is still comfortable. i'll get pics soon.

I installed a Comp Engineering kit, and the side bars have a slight bend. With the bend positioned as shown, the bar clears the doorhandle.

not the best pic...
