jacked Up

I always liked the look of the 60's and 70's muscle car "stinkbug" stance with the rear jacked up. Is it possible to achieve this look on my 84 camaro with different tires, or do I have to modify the suspension?

You could throw a set of air shocks and inflate them to the desired height. Totally destroys your geometry...sway bar is out of alignment, driveshaft u-joints are out of phase. I did it on my high school '75 Firebird and it looked cool at the time, but that was a leaf-spring car.

Says alot about the image and mentality that goes with doing that to a car, which is why you see very very few people on this board ruining their car that way. It's just not done any more. That look went out of style years ago, nowadays it looks like somebody that doesn't know what they're doing. These cars don't tolerate it well at all. The upper shock mount is just a hole in the sheet metal and will teat out just doing its notmal job; it won't survive long with that kind of abuse.

Yeah, well, that was pretty much the case at the time. And that was ~17 years ago. No clue about suspension geometry, and jacked-up big-tired cars were the thing to have, so I grabbed a pair of Gabriel Hi-Jackers and went to town.
