is my T/A WS6?

i did a search and nuthin came up. Can your car be a WS6 but not have the RPO code? And it does have RPO's of:

Y99 - Sales/handling package, is this for suspension?
WS3 - Performance Value Package #2
F41 – Firm ride handling system, front & back
GU2 – 2.73 Rear axle ratio
G80 – Limited slip posi traction
JG1 – Aluminum drive shaft

And yes that is the factory trim, nothin has been replaced. I was just wondering cuz It has the 'Performance Suspension' badge shown here. Anybody??

No WS6 RPO. No WS6.
And yes, Y99 is suspension related.

Hey, on this topic......sorta......
This brought up a question in my mind that I've been meaning to ask for a while. Has anyone ever heard of the WY6 package? According to PHS my 84 TA has the WY6 package, which I can not find described anywhere else, I even got a 1984 Pontiac Brochure and the full options catalog (loose leaf binder from the dealership with every option including paint chips and fabric swatches) off eBay and neither of them lists the WY6 package. From what I can tell it's basically a WS6 without a posi rear end...does that make sense? Because according to the dealer option catalog the L69 305 HO was not available unless you had the WS6 package, and my car is definietly an original L69 car (although I've got a 350 and T-56 in it now ) so I'm just a little confused Anyway, if anybody has ever heard of the WY6 I'd be really interested.
Thanks!

-Paul

90TA,
OK, Thanks, that's what I thought, I was just wondering if I was thinking correctly or not So that means that I've got the WS6 suspension and everything else, just not the WS6 posi, oh well, I knew I had an open diff, and was planning on throwing a powertrax street locker in anyway Thanks a bunch!

Umm. I have an 87 formula.. It has the WS6 RPO.. and it has an open 2.73 rear end. The RPO for the rear is there too. It also does not have rear discs. hmm. Can't find the rpo list I printed up.. or i'd list those rpos too.

OK here's some more info, including a pic of my rpo sheet.. I keep hearing that a ws6 comes with posi and discs.. Well ws6 is plane as can be on the rpo and i know this car never had discs or posi.. I've owned the car since 91 and only just recently changed the rear. It does have the 36mm hollow bar and the 24 mm rear bar too.

So here's the pic:

hope that works sometimes tgo doesnt like msn.

WS6 is in the lower right corner.. If you blow up the pic everything should be readable.. It's also got the GU2 code for the standard 2.73 ratio rear end.. And J50 code for standard power brakes.

The pic doesnt work.. you'll have to cut and paste the link to see it.

WS6, as many RPO codes, was not the same for all years.
It was different for the later 3rd gens, such as the '87 & '91 you mention.

I may be wrong.
Ws6 is suspension, Springs, Steering, shocks, tires/rims, sway bars. It has nothing to do with posi, that is divetrain. WS6 is a suspension package. That is why some with a WS6 RPO do not have posi.
