There is no weakness in a STB with Pin-mounts(Poeple are refering to them as hinges) over one that has solid ends. Here's why- they are designed to box the gap between the upper mounts to keep the gap from closing and causing camber changes and frame rail twist. Adding one actually affects rear wheel plant as well- alot like SFC's will affect front and rear stability and body twist /roll. Here's a basis sketch on what happens if you don't have one.(Its slightly over dramasized for explaination purposes.
Ps- I run an Edelbrock 3-pt on mine. Extra boxing to the firewall does help uni-body flex.

Man, I still don't know if I should go with the 3 point though, like the edelbrock. I like the look of the Hotchkis much better though, and the fact that you can easily remove the whole thing. Is there really gonna be a difference between a 2 point and a 3 point? BTW, I am going to install SFCs before any STB, so that should get rid of any flex that a 3 point will normally remove- I guess??? -89IRO
The main purpose of the STB is to keep the two strut towers from flexing out or in. Its not designed for up and down movement. (Thats a question about the solid bar STB's??) Once you have one installed, the difference is between night and day. And once you have the SFC's, it takes care of the other flexes of the Uni-body. My opinion, I have both items installed and can feel the difference.

Hey, if anyone happens to have a picture (or knows of one) of the Hotchkis Signature Series (silver) and/or polished STB, can they post it here? I would really appreciate that because I can't find of picuture of this stuff anywhere. I don't understand why it is so difficult for a large company like Hotchkis to post a picture of each one they make. Thanks! -89IRO

LT1 - YES
Is there going to be a noticeable difference between the 3-point and 2-point? I have sfc's if it matters.

Well, if you do get a brace, mount it before you paint it. You will need to drill holes for it, and you don't want your new paint scratched.
No stb will clear the stealth ram. Its hard enough to fit it under the hood.
