From what I know in 92 there was no difference. And yes it will fit. I warn you now tho, its a fairly simple swap but getting the pitman arm off is a bitc*.

Ust this if you do have to do the job and remove the Pitman Arm. They are tight but will move!

I actually used that and had no luck. I also used the fork which didnt do anything as well. Maybe you'll have better results than i did.

steering gear
so the rs and z28 had the same ratios?

would it be better to just buy a new pitman arm rather then rent a tool?

thanks john

The pitman arm is conects the steering box to the center link.....you have to get the pitman arm off to get the steering box off. just remove the the pitman arm from the centerlink first. Then remove the steering box. The pitman arm doesnt wear out on our cars, so replacing it isnt necessary.

And i do believe the ratio in 92 was the same for both the RS and Z28

I have never failed to remove one yet, but oil the threads on the puller very well and use a breaker bar to tighten it down. Go steady, a slow pull at a time! I also wrap a shop rag round the tool to hold in shrapnel just in case it goes bang!

Persevere, it will go eventually.
