I want to go with these,

This is the expensive caliper from Baer.
Someone mentioned that these brakes require a lot of maintenence, but I just got off of the phone with Baer and they have this on their ZO6 test car and they say it is a great caliper and is good for a daily driven car.

Anyone have this setup?
What are you guys running?

I hate to ask, but how much are the Brembo's?
Oh, and these are $4,070.00 with a $150 core.

i don't beleive that brembo actualy makes a 'kit' for our cars anymore

a little while ago some posted a picture and some info on a brembo setup, but i don't think it had the 8 piston calipers.

and for 4,000 bones, i sure hope you like to stop

I am trying to build my car for landspeed runs and going 200+mph, you need decent brakes, possibly a parachute as well.

POSSIBLY?!?!? I would hope you use a parachute if you plan on running that fast.

yeah that kind of power is over rated on the street...you'll be lucky if you don't get hit trying to use even half the power of those babies!

when i spoke with baer which has been almost everyday for the last three weeks they explained numberous times that for a street car it is impracticle and pointless. the mainenance on the system itself isn't so much a problem but the pads. it's a pita for a street car and especially a daily driver.

but it's just what they told me, also most that have those are either racing or they are on show cars that never really use the potential and the owners could care less about anything other than looks.

they do look sweet though and if they cost what they should i wouldn't mind having a set; but not for that price and especially on a street car.

I wouldn't even think about getting those barkes - they cost too much and you will never, ever get to use them to their potential. Honestly, go for the track system (I have it) for about $1,100. Then get the suspension and 17" rubber for the same price as the 6 piston alcons.

FYI, you have to get the brakes hot for them to work really well and driving normally keeps them cold as ice (and they don't work as well cold).

Car: too many ...
I have some interesting plans for the brakes on both my cars. For my 91 I need brakes that will perform better than the stock (heck its drums in the rear right now lol) but still allow me to run the stock 16" wheels (daily driver wheels). So I decided for the 91 I will just upgrade to 1LE specs. My 90 is a different story. Pretty soon it will become a 'track only' car. I have a set of 17" ROH wheels for it, so I decided I will be going with a Baer kit up front. I'm thinking about the Track Kit with PBR 2 Piston calipers and 13" x 1.10" Rotors. For the rear however I dont have many options. Because the car is used for drifting I like to experiment with alot of different tire types and sizes on the rear. The car needs to be able to mount 15" through 17" wheels. Right now it has a 9 bolt rear with the single piston PBR calipers. I am looking for an upgrade to dual piston calipers but I need to keep the rotor size the same. And the calipers cant be too big. I want to go as big as I can but still be able to mount 15" wheels. Still searching for answers.
