i am wining a bog warner 9-bolt on e-bay for 80 bucks it's missing the calipers and cylinders and so on it's just the rear. How much does a rear end weigh? i have to arange shipping i was thinking that it weighs close to 200lb's but maybe i can get the guy to disassemble the rear into the carier, ring &pinon ship that box the housing ship that then it gets the weight under 150lb's for the rear housing and axles right? i trying to ship this without paying $200 for freight charges it's 70 dollars to ship 150lb's with fedex. good idea?

I don't know an exact number but it's not 200 I have a completely assambled 9 bolt out in the garage and I can pick it by myself. I also have a 10 bolt that doest have breaks on it and can carry it just bout anywhere with no problem. I'm sure that doesn't help but I hope it does.

 

i think even if you get the weight down the length will still be over their max.

 

how big is a rear demision wise? let see no more than 6feet long no more than 1 foot tall and 2 feet wide at the bell housing. max dimension is 165inches or length + 2hieght + 2width= less than 165
