Brake problems

My g/f has a 99 Metro and her brakes suck i have 2 quetions maybe someone could help me

I put new front pads on the car becasue her pedel goes all the way to the floor before it stops and now the brakes squeel when shes brakeing at low speeds i cleanded the brakes last ngiht and they still squeel. After i did the frotn brakes the pedel got no better it still goes to the floor so i thought there might be air in the system so i bled all 4 wheels and it still goes to the floor any ideas why this is happening? its driving me crazy she dosent care but i do any help would be great.

I am not familiar with the brake systems of that car, but have you tried to bleed the master cylinder?

It definately sounds like air got into the master cylinder. Did you have to open any brake lines when you changed the pads? Did the m/c run dry accidently when you were bleeding all 4 wheels? I wonder how any air got into the system.

Does she have ABS? Could there be an air bubble trapped in there somehow? A regular 'ol Haynes manual for that car should tell how to bleed the m/c... they're such a pain in the butt. I hated doing mine. Finally stumbled onto the "V12 Phoenix Injector" from http://www.brakebleeder.com ; that tool is the best thing I've ever used. Now bleeding brakes is (almost) fun, and a hell of a lot less messy.

Well when i met her i drove her car and the pedel went to the floor before the car stopped then i did the front brake pads that didnt help. So i bled all 4 brakes and it didnt make any bit of a difference. And it bugs me because i want her to be safe at times it feels like the car wont stop.
