rubber things in springs??

i have my car up on jack stands now and i was looking for a problem i had this past summer. Whenever i hit a harsh bump, like crossing a low sidewalk to get in my driveway it makes a rubbing noise.
I was looking at the springs and they have these rubber things wegded in them. I though it might be okay, but then i looked closer and noticed that the passenger back spring has 3 in it at different heights and the driver side one has non. what are they? Can i buy performance springs(stiff ones) that don't lower the car, at most 1 inch, can someone give me a link?

those are the cheap way to keep your springs from sagging.....you can find those at pep boys or auto zone...
I'd recommend going with eithe 1" lowering springs or just replacing your worn out springs with Moog replacement springs
