It just depends. It is possible to have gotten a rear disc setup. It just depends on how the car came. It was an option, not standard.

84 Trans Am's with manual trannies and engine code "G" got 4-wheel disc's... I know... I pulled a disc axle out of an '84 trans am.
The good news is your axle is also a 3.73 with a posi!
The bad news is the posi is actually an Eaton gov-lock locker. Do a Search on this board for Eaton gov-lock.. they're a bad design, and can fail. Mine blew up; now I'm back on a junkyard rear drum axle.
Bad news #2? Well your rear discs were recalled.
Yep, 82-88 rear discs had a recall out on 'em. Since you've got a manual trans (right?), you can drive into a GM dealership, they can run the VIN, and find out if the recall kit was put onto your car. If it wasn't, they're supposed to do it for free. (It's a SAFETY recall, doesn't expire.) I fought this problem for a long time when I did the swap, find out about it here: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...postid=1098527 I just pushed this message to the top, in case anyone else needs this... don't want any 82-88 owners killing themselves (or spending $1000's in brake work) when a $50 kit will fix it all!
