so, my power brake booster bit the big one.
any positive or negative experiences with the aftermarket remanufactured brands? i guess you can't buy them new anymore, and I don't know if i'm better off with a reman or a junkyard pull...
ditto on the master cylinder, guess i should replace it at the same time.

first check your vaccume, the booster rarley goes bad. is it extreemly hard to press the brake pedal, like when the engine isn't running? if the vaccume at the booster is ok and it is too difficult to apply the brake with the engine running, the booster is the likley suspect. snag one from a car in the JY and you will be fine. Auto zone sells the M/C for $35 or you could rebuild the one you have for the cost of a $5 repair kit.
while your at it, you should replace all 4 of your brake hoses, check for leaks. flush the brake fluid and refill with the synthetic HI-TEMP DOT-3, that will help eliminate the "sponginess" too.
