Caliper Anti-Rattle Spring

What does the caliper anti-rattle spring do? And where is it attached?

haha that's ok it does seem self explanitory. The thing was I see it on a diagram and it looks like it is mounted on the brake caliper piston. I am going to change my front pads soon and I didn't know if this was something that should come with pads or it was just something you reuse.

Ok to make up for the smart-*** remark I pulled out my book to see what you are referring too. The antirattle spring is really more like a clip that mounts on the back of the inboard pad. I believe it comes with the brake pads but before you start throwing away parts I would make sure it comes included with the new pads you buy.

The purpose of this is keep the inboard pad seated snug in the brake piston to minimize movement (which causes brake squeak)

Hope that helps.

That does help. I didn't get any such spring with my front pads from Raybestos. Perhaps I can just reuse the old one.
