getting some bad vibes
lately when i brake fairly hard at a stop light, when i start moveing again it feels like the brakes are stuck and wont let go. when i start to accelerate, the whole front end makes this grinding noise. if im on a slight hill after brakeing hard, if i put it in neutral, i wont move. i thought this was my brakes and mabey it still is, but one time when i was just sitting there stopped, the whole front end started makeing the same grinding noise when i wasnt moveing! i took a look underneath and everything looked ok exept for the rubber bushing on the drivers side part of the stableizer bar was falling appart. i know for sure my brakes arent that great, but they wouldnt grind if i was totaly motionless right? my motor mounts look fine too, and this ONLY happens when i brake hard (like when some retard cuts infront of me right before the stop light and i almost lock the tires to keep from ramming into his ***). the grinding happens for as long as i keep accelerateing after stopped, when i let off the gas and coast for a few seconds then start accelerateing again, the noise stops.

Sounds to me like it has nothing to do with the brakes.... more likely, your motor mounts are allowing the engine to shift forward, and some moving part is rubbing on something.
Look closely around where the crank pulley comes closest to the sway bar, the PS pulley is close to the steering gear, etc.

i have a serpentine belt, and from what i can see, nothing is rubbing against anything. it doesnt look like its possible for that engine to slide forward at all, even if it could it would only be by 3/4 of an inch or less, and theres nothing it would hit if it did. the engine could slide forward about 2 or 3 inches before it hit the stableizer bar. if it did slide forward, why would it continue to grind right after i gun it for a while? i would thing the g's would pull the engine back into its spot and return to normal, but it only stops when i stop accelerateing

its only done the grinding noise once when i wasnt moveing, the rest of the time its always after i start moveing again, is it possible some steering/suspension component is loose and moves back to touch the engine when i accelerate? also, im not kidding when i say my brakes are bad, the back left one is shot and knocks around badly, and the brake peddle shakes when i step on it. yet every time i take it off to inspect it, it looks perfectly fine. i even took it in to a shop and they said it looks fine and shouldnt be rattleing around.
