4th Gen to 3rd Gen Wheel Swap ???

I bought a set of 4th Gen wheels like the ones pictured below but the front ones wont clear the tie rod ends on my '86 IROC. Is there a remedy for this? Has anyone else ran into this problem?

Salad shooters......my 2nd favorite 4th gen wheel. And yes there is a remedy for your problem. Wheel spacers. Search for 4th gen wheel spacers on this board and you'll find out where to get them from. Im pretty sure you need 2.25" spacers for the front.

what part of the wheel actually hits?

i just got done fitting 18x9.5 275's with a 2.25 adapter and had no issues whatsoever. the recommended was 2.75 which i will eventually go with in order to clear the new suspension but all stock considered it wasn't a problem.

i'd like to know how your hitting or if it's just because i'm using a 18 that give me the room?

On the inside of the wheel just where it begins to turn out toward the bead. The Tie Rod End sticks out just far enough to prevent the wheel from going all the way on. They are 16"s so I'm sure 17"s or 18"s would work. What kind of money would I be looking at for spacers?

http://www.skulte.com/ for adapters, $150.

you absolutely need them because even if you did get them on, the wheel would sit so far into the fender you won't be able to turn them because they'd hit the inside of the fender
