gear box and wonder bar
The shop said my steering gear box was sliping a little bit. I was wondering if a global west or spohn wonderbar would help out. I

Gear boxes don't "slip". Anybody that's ever taken one apart or otherwise seen the inside would know that.
Sounds like they want to come up with some lame excuse for doing a poor job, that's good enough that you'll accept it and pay for crappy work and think it's not their fault.
You need to find a new shop.
A wonder bar will not help you find a new shop. It will however tighten up your car's frame, and give the steering a noticeably crisper feel.

I've never taken a steering gear box apart, so maybe I dont have the scoops ... I have felt the difference between a good steering gear box, and a bad one. I wouldnt call it slipping, maybe mushy, slow steering? After drifting in my 90 RS for a year, the steering went from tight to mushy (gradually). I decided to toss it out and upgrade to the quick ratio box (got a deal). The wonder bar will help tighten the front of the chassis, but I dont think it will completely fix the issue. It might make the steering feel a little better, but the real fix is to fix the steering gear box (if it is broken). Might want to get a second opinion. If you get bored, you could play with the adjustment on the box and see if it feels a little better. You also might want to look into a front end rebuild if you have high miles (could attribute to mushy steering).

It has a little play in maybe moves 1/10 left to right without turning wheels. Where is exactly the set screw on it and how much do you think I should turn it?
