$450 to replace idlder arm. YA RIGHT

I went to Firestone today to have my frontend aligned and low and behold, I need this and that. Man, I hatemechanics. Anyway, He tells me I need a new idler arm, Heshows me the play in it by having this kid shake the crap out of the wheel. The whole car was shaking. I asked him to get me price and he comes back and says $450.Ya right

I paid around $40 for a Moog Idler arm. If the idler is loose, it should be replaced. Easy do it yourself.

my mechanic did it during inspection a couple years ago at $120 for both part and labor. always go to a real mechanic, not a chain.

$40 for a Moog? Wow, thats cheap. I just read the GMHTP article where they replaced a lotof suspension in MagnumTPI and the Moog idlerarm as $96. Where did you get it from. If there that cheap then I will replace aew other parts under there too. and I never ever go to a mechanic for a job I know I can do myself. I orginally went there for a front end alignment and they told me I needed all new stuff.

I just checked on prices. I got mine a few years back so the price has gone up. Currently, Summit wants $55 for the Moog idler arm.
