Tire pressure gauge, which kind and how do know if your is accurate?

i seen a tire gauge at auto zone that I was going to buy, and I was wondering how do you know if it is a good one? If a gauge is off a pound or 2 that is going to make a diffreces. thanks

i like the guages that have a area for it to go securely on the valve stem to get a good reading..

For my motorcycle it is pretty important to keep the air pressure to a accruate measurement when you are going around curves and over a hundred.

There's always those $60 rebco gauges from summitracing.com ... I bet they're pretty accurate!

I have 4 different gauges. I've tested them all with other peoples giving me a total of 7 comparisons. My conclusion was reached by seeing which ones had the same readings. Of the 7 only 2 were the same. They both happened to be (different brands) the RV type. has the gauge with a small hose and a pressure release button.

I got one from Longacre racing. It's got a nice rubber shock resistant cover and seems to be very accurite and consistant. I use it for my race tires and I need consistancy above all.
