Tyres

Not sure which thread to post this in.

The tyres on my 85 IROC are getting low. I have BFG's on there now but was told that they are now long available in 245/50/16 in New Zealand.

What is a good tyre to replace it with? A guy at the tyre shop said a Gatorback tyre was available..is this any good?? what tyres are you guys running on 16" rims?

I'm a big fan of Dunlop SP-8000 tires from fellow racers' experience with them, have a set waiting to go on to replace my worn-out Yokohamas.

I run 245-50R/16 up front and 255-50R/16 rear.

By today's standards, the Gatorbacks are an "old school" design and almost any tire will be an improvement. I would look into the Dunlops or the BFG KDWs. I'm running Kuhmo 712s and I like them, real good in rain. On my Iroc I have Kelly-Springfield tires, and they are also OK, but when I upgrade them I will go with the BFGs.
