Custom rear springs

I have drop spindles up front and drop springs in the back. I have found that the back end is VERY bouncy compared to the front. I do not like the fact that when I make hard turns, the car will feel unstable until the rear springs compress enough to reach the stiffness the car needs. The front is very linear in this action.

Would it be possible to have a set of stock rate springs made, but with the 1.5" drop that these give me?

I should also mention that the front springs are brand new, and the rears are used... perhaps a new set of drop springs are in order? Would replacing the DeCarbons with a hi-po shock give me the feel I am looking for?

It is possible, you may want slightly stiffer spings than stock, though

I know for sure Eaton/Detroit Spring will custom make springs for about the same price as stock ones, in any height or rate you want,

they have specs for pretty much any auto spring ever made

I was under the impression that the shocks controlled how bouncy the car feels.

Possible solution could be to buy a set of stock height springs with the specific rate you want, then get a set of Ground Control spring pertches for the rear of the car and adjust it to your desired ride height. Like CaysE sudgested, you might also want to look into a new set of rear shocks (depending on if they're dead or not), I'd recommend the Tokiko Illumias, as they are 5 way adjustable.

CrazyHawaiian, what springs/struts/shocks do you have on that car of yours? I love the stance.

The 91z (orange one) is riding on Eibach Sportlines and Koni Adjustables. I haven't started modding the suspension yet (thats what the previous owner did), you can bet its going to get changed around quite a bit hehe

I'm planning on adjustable spring pertches front and rear (set for a 2.5" drop), custom specific rate springs front and rear (thinking 700 lb front and 300lb rear), and adjustable shocks and struts. Everything will be geared towards street use (comfort) as best as possible. I dont like how progressive rate springs react to sudden bumps or dips in the road. The car bottoms out sometimes and my front lip has already been damaged on the freeway (we got horrible roads here I tell ya). And its not even really that low yet. I'm willing to sacrafice a little ride comfort (or alot actually) to make sure my car dosnt bottom out as often. Its like a compromise.
