Belltech drop spindle package.

Are the springs in this setup 1.5 or 2" lowering springs?

i've never seen a package.........where did you find that at?

when i ordered my spindles it was them only and they were for a 2" drop with stock spring rate.

So do they still sell this part? They told me it was discontinued. They only sell the Spindle itself, no springs included. It will lower the ride height of the front without affecting your suspension geometry (like drop springs). If you know someone selling them, please let me know

I have the package on the car at the moment. I love it. The problem is, the front springs are brand spankin' new and the rears are a little old. On the highway the **** end feels a little too lose for my taste, so I want new drop springs. I had thought about having springs made that weren't so progressive as these but I am going to try a new set of shocks first.

The spindles are hard to come by.. top that off with modifying them to work with my Track kit.. talk about nervous!

Best bet for them is ebay.

You might want to contact Eibach and inquire about custom specific rate rear springs for your car. Sounds like you're happy with the front setup. Or you can buy a kit with fronts and rears, up to you.

I got curious about the spindles again so I did a little searching. Lo and Behold I found out that Belltech is scheduled to start making 2 inch drop Spindles for 82-92 Camaro in Early 2003!! So that means YES!!! They are now avaliable!! Check out this link:

I'm so happy!!! *doing crazy dance*

They were crazy to stop making them... I sure am glad they saw the light though!

I yet to dive into the rear spring issue. I took my daily driver off the road for improvement recently and got stuck. I have been waiting 2.5 weeks for my exhaust As soon as that is back on the road and tuned, I will start the research on the springs. She makes me really nervous at high speeds sometimes.. luckily the brakes work.. REALLY well.

Would you guys consider drop spindles to be the best way to lower the car...as opposed to springs? What would you do to drop the rear? I just checked that website...$335..each? or a pair.

it is a very good way to lower, since it won't screw the front geomitry.

the only downside i see, is that i would want to run alot stiffer spring rate with a 2" drop
you also have the problem of matching the front/rear spring rates. correctly and also getting the rear springs to lower a matching 2", so the way i see it is, you are looking at a set up of custom springs as well.

but yes, spindles are a very good way to lower your car.

I bought the stiffest front springs that GM still make. The old drop springs I have now are causing problems.

Dewey316 you hit the nail on the head with that comment!

Holy hell... that sure murders the $140 price for the Monte Carlo spindles in the Summit Racing catalog. Wow. (laughs) Well I'll get drop springs this summer, and pick the spindles up another year. Bummer though; it's a great way to drop an f-body - regardless of engine weight (v6 vs v8). 2" sounds a bit much, though...

It is quite a lot, but it fits the car nicely.

BellTech Spindles--bad news?

Well, guys, after seeing this post. I followed the link posted to see when the drop spindles would be available. I didn't get a answer from S.Effects Performance, so I decided to call BellTech directly.

I was told by one of their salespersons that there are not any plans to start reproducing a 82-92 Camaro drop spindle again. I was told the only way they would, would be if someone wanted buy atleast a 100 of them.

He did give me a phone number to a company that he thought might have some still left.

But you know that they were out of them too, and he also said they were discontinued and not going to be made anymore.

So, I guess I will have to get the airbag suspension afterall.

Lies!!! My Happy Dance!!! Ruined!!! *crying* hahha joking. Well even if they dont make them i will find some!! If my life depends on it!!! I plan to buy drop spindles for both my Camaro's. Like said above it does not mess up your suspension geometry like drop springs. Drop springs can change the angle of your tie rods causing the unwanted bumpsteer effect. Drop spindles wont mess with the tierod geometry so you're good to go.

I thought you could correct the front geometry from drop springs by just getting a front end alignment?

that will fix the tire ware and the camber change from droping, but the bump steer will be a problem, unless you get a bumpsteer kit that basicly relocates the outer tierod mount to keep the geomitry where it should be.

there are ALOT of things you can do to try to correct things, some people will do more than others, and some peoples uses need more done because of how hard they use them.

i even have a set up strut mounts that sit 2" higher to compensate for lowering.

for alot of people lca brackets and an alingment will make them happy, because they dont' use their cars as hard as other, for some they want/need to do alot more, to correct for geomitry changes.
