Question on converting to 4th gen brakes...
Question on converting to 4th gen brakes...
I'm getting a Strange 12 bolt rear end, and it only accepts 93-97 disc or drum brakes. My current brake setup includes the 1LE front (12" rotors and dual piston aluminum calipers) and 89 Trans Am rear brakes (12" rotors I believe). So I'm guessing all I need to convert the rear is the calipers, rotors, and possibly the hoses from a 4th gen. Is this correct? Also, will the proportioning valve/master cylinder that I have now work with these brakes, or is something different? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Look here for more specifics on the swap.

I think you will be fine since you already have the 1LEs and the rear calipers are virtually the same.
Good luck with the swap!!
