my car has no front springs??!

Transmission: WC T5
my car has no front springs??!

I just took a look at my front suspension because im plannin on buying new struts soon...(KYB) and i just noticed there are no springs in the front, only the rear...is this normal? I bought the car 5 months ago its an 1986 firebird

You are probably looking for struts, ie the spring surrounding the shock, the spring on your car is behind the shock sort of behind the fenderwall.

You would definitely know if you had no springs in the car. Even the slightest bump would be a teeth-jarring experience.

yea our cars aint like most cars now days where the spring is on the strut. Our springs are behind the strut like where slickrock55 said. Also if you have no springs your car would be slammed to the ground. As in your front bumper would be about 1" off the ground O_o haha

hmm...maybe i'll have to take a look because i was lookin from the front on the car...every bump i hit IS a teeth jarring experience..haha i need new struts bad

yeah the springs are kinda hidden behind some other things, when you are changing you oil next, look left towards the tire, and you will see the srping

trust me, you car would be all but undrivable without front coils.

in theory, it would just ride on the bump stops, but i am not going to go out and try it for you

Your car has springs.... If it didnt have front springs, you wouldn't be able to drive it because the front of the car would be sitting on the K-member.
