proportioning valve or not?

ok getting ready to swap an 89pbr disk 9 bolt in place of my 10 bolt drum set up, do i need to change the proportioning valve? i did do a search many times and basically became even more confused, i did learn about the different fittings though so i did learn something from the searches thanks in advance

From what I have read, the drum setup used the correct proportioning for the 89 plus pbr brakes. The older disk brakes prop valve is wrong. That being said, I have used both a older disk prop valve and a drum prop valve, and liked the way the drum one acts. That is what I currently have with my pbr breaks.
