Strut Tower Brace?
Strut Tower Brace?
I was just wondering if there are any companies that make STB's for carbureted engines. All the products I've found are only for the TBI's and the like. Just thought someone may have found something in their travels... Thanks.

The Ground Control "Upper Stress Bar" is for carbed or tbi.
It only mounts to two points though.

I've had mine for a couple years now.

Edelbrocks STB listed for teh TBI cars will fit a carbed engine just fine.
the only one i don't think it will fit is a dual snorkle L69 WITH A/C.

I think I'm gonna go with the edelbrock ones because then I can have them shipped all together with some other stuff from Summit
How do you install them, just drill some holes and bolt them in?

yah I have some questions about that...
when the car is sitting on the ground... there's going to be distance X between the strut towers...
If you jack it up on the underside so any part of the front suspension is not supporting the car any more, I would assume this will flex a bit...
Anyone measured this? how much, and what is the ideal position to bolt it on?

that james one is a cheap piece of crap , heck it's even bent :-/ yeah that won't flex a bit... it's look only and even then there's a lot to be desired since it still looks cheap.
thanks for posting that link to flat out perf, I just ordered their STB, looks like a very nice sturby piece that sits lowand has no change of flexing , definitely a nice product and only cost me $93 with shipping to NH.

FYI Remember the edelbrock one is a 3 point , so if you ever want to remove your intake or other big piece of the motor you will most likely have to mess with the back bolts to remove the STB
might not seem like a huge hassle but you should think about that before you get it. Plus I like to support the smaller guys , so I got flatout.

the flat out and edelbrocks are both good peices, i know the guys at flat and i have seen the brace, it is a very nice peice.
i have the edelbrock on my car, and am very happy with it, taking it off is very easy, i have no complaints with it.

I bought one (Edelbrock Strut Tower Brace for TBI/carb.) but in the rush to get it I didn't check
that it wouldn't fit on cars with the A/C on the driver's side... does any one want to buy it?
$120 takes it!
