No rear sway bar or panrod arm

Question for you guys I have a 1982 Camaro which does not have a rear sway bar or panrod arm would it be beneficial to install one and how hard is it to install them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Justin

if you dont have a panard rod (they come stock) your car would not be vary safe to drive ! the rear will stear to car with nothing to locate it

The panhard rod goes from the rearend on one side to the body above it on the other. Unless there's an aftermarket suspension in there, you'd probably not be able to drive the car without the back tires rubbing their inside &/or outside edges as the car moves sideways over the rear.
I suggest going to a junkyard and grabbing a sway bar. Pretty much all the 3rd gens have them, and it will be way chearper than a new one.

Well...this may sound dumb, but it took me a while to figure out what a "panhard rod" was because all the repair manuals refer to this part as the "track bar".

I am assuming you know where the sway bar connects and what it looks like and have verified that its not there. Who knows? I'd get one though. $15 at your local yard. Bring a hack saw w/ a sawzall blade b/c the bolts on your donor car will probably be impossible to torque off.
