I have a 1" drop and soon to be 2" and i have problems jacking it up and i cant clear those metal drive up ramps. My buddy with the green accord with a 4" drop has the same problem and was saying it was such a pain to jack it up so he would pay me 50 bucks to come with a good plan so i took some 2x6" and had one long one and kinda made a small pyramid type ramp the car can drive on it and get enough off the ground so you can fit a jack under to hit your jacking point. Probaly been done but heey i made 50 bucks on it so i'll get some pics up later.

Rhino Ramps.

about $30 at most auto stores. Heavy duty plastic ramps that are excellent for lowered cars. The ramp angle is more gradual than the metal ramps.

Rhino ramps don't work on my car. The nose hits the edge, and I'm only lowered with Pro-Kits. I have to use some 2x12 before the ramps to clear it.

yeah i have to jack the front up at the k-member from either side of the car in front of the front tire and i dont even have lowering springs on yet, once i get the front high enough i can slid ramp under the tires and then drive up the rest of the way.

I can still just get my floor jack under the front of my car...

but the first thing I did (before I spent money on jack's) was get a 2x12" and make some 3" high ramps so I could get underneath...

did my first oil change that way.

You could spent about 400 on a racing jack that is only 2 inches tall. Heh!!

Tom, since you have one of those jacks I have a question. How well does it lower the car? I've had jacks that lower very quickly (especially that stupid huge gray one from Sears.) Just wondering if that 1/2 turn to lower is nice and slow.

Yeah it's easy to modulate, plus it's so easy to pick up since we bring it to the track all the time. It's 6 full pumps to max height and is rated for only 3000 lbs (remember, you only lift half of the car at a time) It also has a nice rubber pad on the lifting point to protect your car's underside.
