Custom SFCs

Hey, I want subframe connectors and a strut tower brace, but I'm too cheep to buy 'em, so I'm gonna make 'em. I can get the metal and weld it an all, and I can measure out the stuff for the STB, but I cant get up under the car. So, can anyone give me demensions for the tubes and brackets to make the STB? Thanks.

Ya... I would recomend building your own because it is a good experience and fairly easy to do. But... with the buying of the steel, the cutting, the welding... you would probably not save much money especially if you have to rent chopsaws, tube benders, and/or welders.

Strut Tower Braces are easily made and do wonders for the car, and you can do it when you do the Sfcs, it is even easier really. You could also make a Wonderbar, which I havent seen done on the board, but I will be doing it soon.

You also have to ask youself how much is your time worth. Is it worth 3 hours or more on saving 20-30 bucks?

Oh well, Good luck!

I used 1" DOM steel tubing with a .156" wall. Very stout piece of steel. I used 1/8 plate to make the mounting plates and firewall bracket. I made my STB in about 2 hours. Took a little longer for the paint to dry...
