i have my prokit waiting to be installed when the rain here stops
. how low does it really make the car? can I still go over a speed bump? im hope so! my springs are 14 year old stock IROC springs so im thinking they may be sagged some?? and therefore the new springs wont lower it quite AS much. does that theory hold water?

yeah most likely your stock springs are sagging a bit, so the prokit would lower it maybe a half an inch to what it is now.
should be about an inch from stock factory height, thats what i have heard and seen from searches on here.

my car lowered about an inch at the front and half inch at the back right after installation which was several weeks ago. i took measurements beforehand to make sure they werent sagging and the prokit actually lowered it. im happy with the new ride height but am more careful now with speedbumps, etc.

but you can go over speed bumps with care without bottoming out?Originally posted by llvll4l2c91350

yes but i have to be going real slow. but if the speedbump is too high i'd probably still rub it. to be on the safe side i always try to pass a bump or exit a driveway or whatever, going diagonally (one wheel hits first then the other) instead of straight. less chance of hitting anything.Originally posted by NJITIROC

i have pro-kit with 17 inch rims and kybs and it rides very good. I have no problem going over bumbs. I also have pictures of the wheel gaps if u want them
Supreme Member
i just post them. This is a picture of my front wheel gap
Supreme Member
Yea you won't have to worry about bottoming out with the pro kit, as long as you take it easy over something that looks to be rough. If your not sure, take it slow anyway.
thanks guys! your input is appreciated as always.
Supreme Member
Springs were 20 years old - ride height stayed the same when added prokit - may actually have raised the front a little.

usually the front will lower a bit more than the rear on the maros. if this aint the case then spring sag is to blame

so the car is gonna be on an angle?Originally posted by BORLAZ06

ill just have to see what happens when i finally install them. but its best to be aware of stuff before hand. makes the whole thing smoother. id like the car to sit level, just lower.
Supreme Member
this is my ride. it is hard to tell from the pic but the rear does sit slightly higher. i still love the look though.

my car with pro kit...

its slightly angled. the sportline springs will make ur car leveled and you'll have more issues with speed bumps and driveways.

You guys are all still 4x4's
Gotta take time and trim things to the ride height you want. I only scrap on an occational very tall speed bump- even then it strategicaly scrapes on my Spohn trans crossmember that I custom grindeed and fabbed into a skid plate contact point- that way no harm to anything if it does hit.

CHEVROLET, Camaro, F-Body, V8 - 1992
(Incl. Z28 & Convertible)
Product Front Rear Comments Part Number
PRO-KIT 1 in 1 in 3801.140
SPORTLINE KIT 1.6 in 1.3 in Excluding convertible. 4.0138
DRAG-LAUNCH-KIT 9306.140
That was taken right off their website so by that the pro-kit will lower it 1 inch in the front and 1 inch in the rear, and the sportline will lower it 1.6 inches in front and 1.3 inches in the rear. So the sportline springs will creat more of an angle than the pro kit.

I've been had!!!
It's odd... The rims look nice and close to the fender, but the gfx look far off the ground. Still a great stance!

if your lookin to go low and have damn good handling still..i'd check out intrax...i have a 2" drop on my 91 with 18's and i have minimal tire/fender gap..the only thing that drags is my lisence plate cause its on the airdam...other than that i dont hit anything..i'd like another inch yet tho
but take a sec and check out intrax springs...they may be purple...but they ride ALOT better than any eibach spring in my opinion

one question......if taking a change and spending 200 bucks on spring that my not even lower the car.....then why take out the stock sagging springs?
Supreme Member
For better handling and stiffer springs.
Supreme Member
less bumpiness too?
Supreme Member
Bumpiness is controled by alot of things. If you do get the prokit to replace your worn out springs, it will be a rougher ride, but not buy much. Poly bushings is the most noticeable.

How does the hotchkis compare to the Eibach? I know the Eibach is about $20 more or so. Can you tell a difference between the two?
By the way nice hood Tpi383. I have one of those.

i have intrax and 18 inch wheels too. The stance still was not right for me, so i have cut off half a coil in the front and a full coil in the back. now i am close to the look i want.
Supreme Member
Remember that new springs will settle.

yo Graboid....did that trash ur ride quality? im definetly wantin a lower stance but i wanna keep my ride quality cause it rides tities...im all about low...i have a bodydropped s10 too :hail:

The ride is harsh. But, since this is my sunny weater and drive around for fun car, i don't give a damn. If you wanna go low, you have to pay the price. And you are one who knows, that our cars look not good with stock suspension or eibach pro-kit. I will make some pic's today ,and post them later.

my tires are 235/40/18 on the front and 295/35/18 on the back

looks damn good..the only thing i hate about camaros is that you lower one...and then you see a stock one that looks as low as yours...its rediculous..your like man what did i just waste my money on? grrrrrrrrrrr...that and mine doesnt have any cup holders..heh
Senior Member
I think the Pro-Kit springs feel similar to new stock springs only they help the car from leaning when taking a hard turn. They only feel stiff when you hit a pothole or something like that, but that was one of the main complaints when these cars were new. My springs only lowered the car about 4/5" all the way around.
Member
I got suspension Tech springs I the ride is harsh. The front lowered almost two inch. I'm thinking of puting The prokit on instead...

Grabiod, did you have to do anything else besides springs and struts? Did you have to pound anything out? Also, why do you have a smaller tire in back 40, and 45 in front, for stance or what?
Member
because of the width of the tire in the back kinda equals out to a 45...i have 275/35s on the back of mine and a 235/40 on the front and it looks the same

Because of the ratio of width/profile formula for overall diameter, it works to (659.7mm) 26 inches (25.97 to be exact) for the front 225/45-18s and (677.2mm) 26.66 inches for the rear 275/40-18s... just for your reference 1 inch = 25.4 mmOriginally posted by Grimaldo
