Ford 9 inch drive shaft???

Ford 9 inch drive shaft???

I heard from one guy at a show that to put a ford 9 inch in a 3rd gen that I have to use a shorter drive shaft. is this true???also how about a small pole here. wich unit do 9 incher users prefer, Currie or Moser???

It's probably true.

I can tell you've never swapped a rear end before.... Of all the things to worry about in a swap like that, drive shaft length has got to be one of the least significant; you just take it to a drive shaft shop, tell them how long you want it, and about $75 later you're good to go.

well I swapped out the original rear axle that was in my Trans Am before for one out of an 88 Formula that I had parted out. it really wasn't to bad of a swap, just one heavy a$$ part to put in by yourself on the street in front of ones house. that swap didn't have any problems, all pretty straight forward.
as far as the Ford 9 inch swap I have heard it is not as straight forward and easy. I am keeping for now lca locations stock. one thing I know will be a puta will be the new rear break setup b/c I will be getting a Baer break setup which will need a new e cable setup to go with it. I think this swap is going to be a very tedious swap but well worth it when it will be all done.
