relay rod and centerlink = same thing?

i was looking through a manual and it referred to the centerlink as the relay rod...is the centerlink where the inner tie rods bolt up to? or do i have this all mixed up? i just figured it had 2 names

That's probably what they meant.

Technically, these cars don't have a "relay rod"; that's what it's called when the Pitman arm hooks to the left spindle, and then there's a rod that goes from the left spindle to the right one. Solid axle / kingpin truck front ends, and some 4WDs, use that setup.

Ours is more correctly called a "center link" or a "drag link".
