I think a have a problem with my stock front brakes....question within
Ok so lately it feels like my front brakes aren't working quite right. I've actually had the back brakes lock up on me on some stops that weren't exactly panic, but still moderate to hard.
It also just feels like it's taking longer to stop.
I did replace the front pads about 3 weeks ago but I don't think the problem started right after the swap.
I was thinking proportioning valve maybe? I jacked up the front end today and had someone step on the brakes without the car running. I couldn't turn the front wheels at all so it has to be working somewhat I guess.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated. If I had a line pressure gauge I'd hook it up but I haven't been able to find one yet.

look at your rotors..... are they shiny?
with new pads, you may have glazed the rotors/pads..

I'll have to take a look at them tomorrow. I should mention I didn't have the rotors cut. I should have, but I'm planning some mods for the car and money is tight right now. I just used some sand paper to scuff them up and break the glaze.

Hey Paul.
Have you bedded the pads in yet? If not, do a panic stop or 4 to get them up to temp and take the glaze off the rotors. That should do it. My 1LEs felt a bit weak after the swap until I did that, now they rock.
