Emergency brake cable solution for 4th gen rear swap
Hi guys,
I searched all of the old posts and can not find anything other than fabricated solutions.
Am I not mistaken that there was a solution that used the factory cable for 3rd gen rears with disc on the 4th gen rear with 4th gen disc setup?
I recall there were two versions of the factory design. Was it the first or second? What was the difference? Lastly, what are the part numbers?
Did those old post fall off the board?

Can you post a pic of your calipers? I recently bought a set of brakes from a '94 IIRC and they are the same calipers as the ones on my '89 PBR rearend and would use the same cable. The only difference is the big round rubber snubber thingy attached to the bracket, you should know what I mean.
I don't have teh part number handy but I asked for a cable for a '89-92 car with the PERFORMANCE brake package, this should get the right ones as long as they're not the LS1 style brakes.

Hi Ed,
The rear is from an 01 T/A so I am assuming they are LS1 style brakes. I will see if I can post a pic this evening.

Yep, LS1 style I think. Here's a link to what other's have done to make it work.

The '89-92 cables won't work for you UNLESS your calipers and e-brake bracket look like this, then you're fine:
