disc brakes-grapping....

alright guys i need your help yet again....

i have disc brakes & EVERYTIME it rains or i wash the car rims & the brakes get wet,it seems the brakes grap,does any one elses do this? is it something that needs replaced? OR is it this d@mn ghost again?!!! ---should i just put "Holy Water" on the car?!!

please help cuz i wash the car frequently & whenever i hit the brakes it about sends me through the windshield

well it bothers me cuz it sounds like cr@p when it happens & besides i cant stand anything wrong with the car...do all disc brakes do it? also it sounds like its laying rubber & of course everyone looks & i feel like a dumbazz when it happens

Yep most disc breaks will do that. Water on the rotors makes them rust lightly so when you apply the brakes for the first few times there is more friction so they bite harder and so they feel like they are grabbing till the light surface rust goes away.

if by 'grabbing' you mean a squeaking sound like running your thumb over a clean plate (anybody old enough to remember that commercial?), then mine do the same. i've *never* heard discs do that before...

no its not really the noise thats bugging me its that it actually grabs...just like ur slamming on the brakes but yet ur not,make sense? its like you depress the brake easy but yet it stops u like now as if u meant to do it but yet ur not......make any sense?
