Where can I find a new steering coupling joint, (I think people call them rag joints) for my 83 trans am? I think I need a new one, but am
unable to find it anywhere. I'm not talking about the rubber disc itself, but the metal thing that goes around the disc. This is for sloppy
steering. Please help me out cause I only have 15 more days that I can drive the car until next summer, and I haven't driven it all summer.

I tried to replace mine a while back & found out no one makes a reman or ?.the only fix is a GM replcement steering shaft.GM makes these as non serviceable items.So the entire shaft has to be replaced

Yea i went that route also with the help line universal replcement,but i didnt like it.SO heres what i did instead.Made my own,better i think.Now im trying to find somebody to help me manufacture this.

 

where did you get that from? i like the way it eliminates the upper joint.

 

The parts are from 3 different cars.Found most at the junk yard.I made it myself at home in the garage.
