I am running 265 BFG TAs on the stock rear iroc wheels, alot of sidewall bulge, the guy that put them on said never again, and they wear really bad in the middle portion of the tread, not that my love of smokeshows helps that any

with a strong enough motor, would stock size (245/45) f1's let me pull like 1.9 60' times? i just want to know what would let me pull a pretty decent 60' time...

A lot of your 60' time is gonna be in how you launch the car,the better you can handle your car the better ur time will be, those Eagle F1's will give you real good traction, I had a set of 225/50r16's on my 91 5.0 mustang(I know, I know guys, I don't have it no more) and they gave exceptional traction. As far as 265's on your wheels, I've got 255/45zr17 tires on my 17x8 rims, and could easily go bigger, you should have too much trouble putting 265's on the 16's if they also 8 inches wide. Just make sure you go with like a 40 or 45 series tire. I'm not even really sure on the 45 series with a 16" wheel. I'd probably go 40 series. My 45's look good on 17's but I think they'd be a bit tall on a 16. But thats just my 2 cents

265 is the width....which is around 10.4 inches. 255's are the absolute most I would go with on an 8 inch wheel. Wider will physically fit on the wheel. However, the deformed tire that results eliminates any increase in traction you are trying to gain with a larger tire. Finding a good quality sticky tire that fits the wheel you are using is more important that just 'wider is better'. It takes way more than good tires to get a good 60ft time, tires are just part of it.

Its kinda hard to determine what the "best" tire is, but those Eagle F1's are excellent for traction, thats why they come on the new 'vettes. As far as treadlife, Eagle F1's aren't going to be the best for that. I have Dayton Daytona ZR's on my bird, and I was told they are a little bit harder rubber for a ZR tire, so they last a little longer. Most of your ZR tires are gonna give good traction, but suffer on the treadlife side.
