peformance suspenion question

im just getting into third gens i have an 87 formula with the ws6 package. I am buying an 85 firebird 305 carb with an auto looks likes its close to a base model not a formula but it has the performance suspesion badge just like mine and it has the front and rear sway bar. Could u get the ws6 package on a base model firebird or there diffrent perfomance suspension package availbable just wondering.

Yes you could, I've owned two, and still own one of them.

f355bird, you couldn't get the WS6 pkg in anything but a Formula or T/A. Your 85 probably had the badge added by a previous owner. And both my base models had/have front and rear swaybars from the factory. They're just smaller than the WS6 pieces.

You also got that badge if you had the level II suspension. The RPO code is F41.

The F41 is just an upgrade from the base suspension. You got bigger sway bars, different springs, etc. WS6 was available in 85 as it was the level III suspension. So to answer your question, F41 was not the best, but it certainly wasn't the worst.

My neighbor had an 82 base 'bird (didn't even get a spoiler) with a 305 4-speed.
You could get a base model v8 'bird just the same as getting a base model v8 camaro.
