Direct bolt on aluminum brake caliper upgrade

I want to upgrade the front disk brakes on my 91 Camaro RS and found this Direct bolt on two piston aluminum caliper from www.ssbrakes.com for $395. Has anyone installed these calipers? Seems like it would be a simple way to improve braking on a daily driver.

Those have been mentioned before, but what that upgrade doesn't do is increase the size of the rotor which is what is really needed. All this does is give you a set of dual piston calipers. IMO not really worth it to just do that...a properly working set of stock calipers and upgraded pads and rotors would do better.

For that price ($400), why not look into the C4, LS1, or C5 brake upgrades? These will give you both dual piston calipers and either 12" or 13" rotors and hubs which will eliminate having to mess with bearings every time you want to change rotors.

There was an in depth discussion regarding this a while ago. See this link:-

Though as Ed says, better value may be found elsewhere - with better braking ability also.

Hope that helps!
